CHEMCAD can be easily installed as many times as required.

In order to use CHEMCAD technically, you require an authorization.

The technical requirements are described in the following. The legal terms of use for CHEMCAD are described in license models.

The program can either be authorized by entering a license key (“numerical system authorization”) or using a dongle (“hardware key authorization”) for single workstations (PCs) as well as for networks (LAN).

All authorizations expire after a certain period. Once the authorization has expired, it can be easily extended as described.

Code/PC

Numerical system authorization for single workstations (PCs)

You will receive a code from us via e-mail, which you have to enter when starting CHEMCAD for the first time. The code is generated according to the signature of your single workstation. The procedure for generating this "system key", and inserting your license key into CHEMCAD is described here.

Advantages: You always have your authorization “with you”.

Disadvantages: The authorization is only valid on the computer you enter the license key into.

Extension after expiration of the authorization: manually, when starting CHEMCAD on your single workstation.

Dongle/PC

We will send you a “SuperPro” dongle, which you have to insert in a port on your single workstation.

Advantages: You can take the dongle with you and work with CHEMCAD on another single workstation.

Disadvantages: The dongle might be lost. The USB port may not be blocked.

Extension after expiration of the authorization: You will receive a file for your dongle from us by e-mail, which you then have to copy to a directory of your choice on your computer. Then indicate the file location in the CHEMCAD setup. The procedure is described here.

Code/LAN

Numerical system authorization for networks (LAN)

The license manager program “RMS – Version 8” needs to be installed on the server. You will receive a code file from us via e-mail, which has to be stored on the server. The procedure is described here.

Advantages: You do not need physical access to the server.

Disadvantages: Due to the high costs of the RMS license manager, this service is not available for colleges/universities. The authorization is void when a new server is installed.

Extension after expiration of the authorization: You will receive a new code file from us via e-mail, which has to be stored on the server.

Dongle/LAN

Hardware key authorization for networks (LAN)

The license manager program “Sentinel Protection Installer” needs to be installed on the server. We will send you a “SuperProNet” dongle, which you have to insert in a port on your server. The procedure is described here.

Advantages: None

Disadvantages: You require physical access to the server.

Extension after expiration of the authorization: You will receive an update file for your dongle from us via e-mail, which needs to be copied to any directory on your computer. Then locate the file location in CHEMCAD setup. The procedure is described here.
